Lee Valley VeloPark has announced the launch of new Pickleball courts and sessions starting on Saturday.

This exciting event will feature some of the UK's top Pickleball players and coaches, who will be putting on an exhibition match, coaching sessions and drills, as well as match play from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

Pickleball stars such as Jess Wilson, the UK's number three female player, and Richard Love, the top-ranked UK player in the 50+ category and number three in Europe, will help to launch the courts at the iconic former London 2012 Games venue.

One of the UK’s most renowned coaches Rob Williams will also be at the event, alongside the talented Jess Premier Pickleball League Team, which includes Emily Jelly and Anty Guiliano, who are both European champions.

Pickleball is fast becoming one of the most popular racket sports in the world, bringing together some of the best elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis, into a fun and exciting game for people of all ages and abilities.

In addition to Pickleball activities, people can enjoy a variety of food and drinks at Cafe 42 Degrees throughout the day.

Lee Valley VeloPark is inviting everyone to "give it a go" and experience the excitement of Pickleball, with sessions running from 9.30am-11.30am, 11.30am-1.30pm and 1.30pm-3.30pm for just £5 per person, including refreshments.

Each session will include up to eight people per court, with a maximum of 16 participants per session.

Visitors can join in the day of Pickleball fun and witness some of the country’s top stars in action. Pickleball sessions will also be available at Lee Valley Hockey & Tennis Centre just two days later from Monday September 16.
