Three men from Tower Hamlets have been jailed for running a ‘drugs hotline service’ where they delivered to the Hoxton area after taking orders over the phone.

Kasru Abdul, 23, of Raine Street, Wapping, Arif Ahmed, 21, of Durward Street, and 21-year-old Karim Abdul, of Heneage Street, both in Whitechapel, advertised with contact cards that read: “Magic. Anytime. Anywhere” with a phone number to call.

Anyone could call and the trio would deliver a choice of drugs including MDMA, ketamine, cocaine and cannabis.

In one month alone they fulfilled 21 orders.

They were snared after detectives from the Met’s Trident and Area Command carried out an intelligence-led investigation tackling street drug dealing in the Hoxton area.

When Ahmed was arrested at his home on April 6 detectives found £4,000 cash and a box with more than 100 of his business cards relating to the ‘Magic’ hotline.

They also seized six wraps of white powder found on Ahmed when he was searched.

Karim Adbul was arrested near Hoxton Square on the same day after he supplied Class A drugs to two undercover officers.

A search of his car uncovered a quantity of cash, ‘Magic’ hotline business cards, 30 wraps of Class A drugs and eight bags of herbal cannabis.

Kasru Abdul was arrested in Romford, Essex, on April 13.

On Friday they were jailed at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

Ahmed was sentenced to four-and-a-half years for 11 counts of drug-related offences, Kasru Abdul received five years and three months for five counts of supplying Class A drugs and Karim Abdul was jailed for four-and-a-half years for 10 counts of drug-related offences.

Detective Sergeant Nick Hamer, investigating officer, said: “There was no caution practiced by this network.

“Anyone who called the number simply provided their location and the drugs were brought to them.

“Over a one-month period, they served drugs to a number of undercover officers resulting in 21 indictments for supply of drugs including MDMA, ketamine, cocaine and cannabis.”
