Two further arrests have been made after a man was fatally stabbed on the Isle of Dogs. 

The Metropolitan Police yesterday (August 8) arrested two 18-year-old men on suspicion of murdering 27-year-old Abdul Jalloh. 

Abdul was stabbed shortly after 4pm on August 5 in New Union Close where he later died from his injuries, despite the best efforts of emergency responders.

Detectives had previously arrested a 16-year-old male on suspicion of assisting an offender but he has since been released under investigation. 

Both 18-year-olds remain in custody. 

Ch Supt Brigid Beehag-Fisher said: "Even though two arrests have been made I do not underestimate the impact this has had on residents and the local community.

"We will continue to provide an enhanced policing presence over the coming days."

Det Ch Insp Paul Waller said: “We would like to thank those people who have spoken to officers, but would still like to hear from anyone who was in the area of New Union Close at the time of this incident, or anyone who has any information who hasn’t already spoken with officers.
