A young man has died and one person has been arrested after a stabbing in Isle of Dogs.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service to New Union Close at 4.15pm yesterday evening (August 5).

London’s Air Ambulance also attended the scene, where a man aged in his mid-20s was treated.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, he died a short time later. His next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination is yet to take place, and a crime scene remains in place in the road.

One arrest has been made in connection with the investigation, but police enquiries have been described as “ongoing”.
