A man has died after being hit by a car that did not stop at the scene in East Ham, Newham this morning.
Metropolitan Police were called at 5.11am on Sunday (March 24) to Barking Road at its junction with Arragon Road to reports of a disturbance and crash involving a car and a pedestrian.
Officers arrived and began administering CPR before London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance Service paramedics treated the man.
Despite their best efforts, the man aged in his 30s was declared dead at the scene.

Officers believe they know who the victim is and his next of kin have been made aware of the incident.
A crime scene has been put in place and a probe has been launched to establish what happened.
Met Police said the car did not stop after hitting the man and officers are looking for it and its driver.
No arrests have been made at this time.
Anyone with information or footage from the crash that can help the police have been urged by officers to contact them by dialling 101 quoting reference CAD 1281/24 Mar.
Barking Road has since been shut Eastbound between Boleyn Road and Kimberley Avenue as per AA.
A detour is in operation for bus routes 5, 58, 115 and 147.
