Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade has reaffirmed his commitment to the club, after being linked with the vacant managerial post at struggling Sheffield United.
The Blades, bottom of League One, sacked David Weir on Friday after just four months in charge and Slade was installed by bookmakers as one of the front-runners to take over, having previously spent time as a coach at Bramall Lane.
But Slade, the fifth longest-serving manager in English football, has two years to run on his current contract with Orient and insists he has no desire to leave.
“I have one focus and that is Leyton Orient,” said the 53-year-old. “The fact that we’re doing a good job here means from time to time links to other clubs is going to happen.
“But there is no temptation. I love this group. We’ve worked so hard together to get where we are. We’re in a great position at the moment and it would take something very special for me to leave this and I think it would take any of my players something special to leave this group right now too.”
