Orient supporters dressed up as clowns and blew whistles before invading the pitch at full time and calling for the Italian to leave E10 club
Leyton Orient fans delivered their clearest message yet to chairman Francesco Becchetti after protesting against him following yesterday’s 2-1 win over Hartlepool United.
The O’s supporters dressed up as clowns and in other fancy dress and it helped create a partisan atmosphere at Brisbane Road.
Orient fans brought whistles into the ground too and used them at 3.11pm to make their frustration towards Becchetti heard.
It was meant to symbol supporters blowing time on the Italian’s reign, who has had 11 different managers during his near three-year spell in charge.
Throughout the match there were chants of ‘Becchetti out!’ and ‘Sack the board’ before a pitch invasion at the end of the game.
After the full-time whistle, O’s fans burst onto the pitch and firstly congratulated Orient’s players after an excellent victory.
Attention was then turned to Becchetti with more chants of ‘Becchetti out!’ directed towards the Gallery despite his continued absence from Brisbane Road.
O’s fans also chanted ‘Orient is ours!’ to further signal their intentions of getting the current chairman out of the club.
By the time the E10 outfit return to Brisbane Road on April 29 they may officially be relegated, but the supporters won’t stop fighting until there is a change of ownership.
